    Psychotherapy with Archetypal Astrology

Think of your life as a marvelous detective novel. Each aspect of your life, especially the quirky, maverick parts are clues to your task, your destiny, your gifts to the world. Astrology invites us to perceive life as a myriad of meaningful patterns.

Early attachment experiences with parents and siblings activate the latent psychological capacities of the child. If basic needs are consistently met, the child correlates those needs with positive beliefs and feelings. If certain needs remain unfulfilled due to trauma or neglect, then the child develops negative beliefs and feelings around those needs. These experiences (both good and bad) constellate in to a narrative involving self and other.

We do not need astrology. It is, however, an exquisite language by which to enliven all the different facets of our natures. Astrologically enhanced psychotherapy utilizes the client’s horoscope as an adjunct to one’s own interpretive skills. The horoscope can be instructive as well as compellingly descriptive, functioning as a diagnostic tool rooted in a mythological language. A chart is a symbolic map of your contract with life.

“In my opinion, astrology is the only system that can successfully predict both the content and the timing of experiences encountered in psychotherapy.“

~ Stanislav Grof, M.D. Former Chief of Psychiatric Research,
    Maryland Psychiatric Research Center
    Author of Beyond the Brain

“My evenings are taken up very largely with astrology. I make horoscopic calculations in order to find a clue to the core of psychological truth. Some remarkable things have turned up which will certainly appear incredible to you…I dare say that we shall one day discover in astrology a good deal of knowledge that has been intuitively projected into the heavens”

~ Carl Jung in a letter to Sigmund Freud, June 12, 1911
